Visual and Performing Arts Education is coming back to Jerabek via the Arts Education Project!
At our 2023 Spring Fling Fundraising Gala, we learned that there was a plan to fill the loss of music instruction next school year, IF we raised enough money! Well, we’ve got good news…WE DID!
We raised $60,680 at Spring Fling, $17,000 of which came from spirited donations during our “Fund A Need” portion of the event, aimed at continuing FFO programs and supports and bringing critical arts education to all students.
The FFO is happy to report that, thanks to your generous contributions, we will be able to provide the school with the additional funding needed to bring the new arts education project to Jerabek for the 2023-2024 school year! The program includes a monthly rotation of Dance, Music, Art and Drama/Theatre for ALL Jerabek students!
A HUGE THANK YOU to all who continue to contribute funds to the FFO in order to enhance the education of our koalas!
Your support helps our children thrive!
The Arts Education Project does not replace the current VAPA program that our fourth and fifth graders receive. Fourth and fifth graders will continue to receive VAPA music instruction in addition to the new monthly Music, Art, Dance and Drama rotation.

San Diego Unified School District officials are currently working with the state Department of Education regarding Proposition 28 funding of VAPA instruction and the timeline of when school sites will receive these funds. The FFO is grateful to provide funding for arts education. In the event that our school site receives funding for VAPA education for the 2023-2024 school year, the FFO executive board will promptly meet to evaluate the budgetary impact and discuss next steps.
