Welcome to the Jerabek FFO

The Family Faculty Organization of Jerabek Elementary School, or FFO, is an organization similar to a PTA, made up of parents, community members, and staff who work together to provide students with added enrichment to their existing curriculum. Everyone who has a child at Jerabek is automatically a member of the FFO.

A Warm Welcome from Clarisse Gray

Meet our Jerabek FFO President for the 25/26 school year!

How long have you been at Jerabek? What do you love about the school?

We have truly valued being part of the Jerabek Elementary community over the past six years. When our family relocated from the Bay Area to San Diego in July 2019, our eldest daughter, Isa, began first grade at Jerabek. She is now a seventh grader, and we are equally excited to see our youngest daughter, Caia, thrive as a third grader at the school.

What I love most about the school is our amazing faculty and staff who genuinely care about their students and the families’ passion to volunteer in the classrooms and in the Family Faculty Organization (FFO).  This is what makes Jerabek so special.

What’s your favorite event that Jerabek puts on every year and why?

Wow, that’s a difficult question—there are so many wonderful events throughout the year that bring our school community together. It’s always a joy to see families gathering on campus for occasions such as Fall Movie Night, Trunk or Treat and Art Nights. I also greatly enjoy our Spring Fling, a lively fundraising gala where parents come together for an evening of celebration and connection.

If I had to choose a favorite, it would be Ranch Round Up—our signature late-spring event that brings carnival-style fun to the Ranch. From games and prizes to bounce houses and the always-popular student talent show, there’s truly something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

What are you most looking forward to about serving as FFO President?

When I consider what it means to serve our school community, I believe it begins with actively listening to the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and families. From there, we can thoughtfully plan our fundraising efforts, programs, and social events to meaningfully support those needs.

We are excited to introduce a new parent-led initiative called the KoalaKind Collective, established with the mission of fostering a school environment where every child and parent feels seen, celebrated, and supported.  More information will be shared soon, including opportunities for families to get involved and help us build a more inclusive and connected community.

What do you enjoy doing during your free time?

During my free time, I’m energized spending time with friends and I love planning vacations with my family.  My happy place is travelling with my husband of 22 years, Jace, my two girls and our 8-month old Schnoodle pup, Auggie.  Jace and I also enjoy winding down in the quiet hour after our children are asleep and binge watching quality shows. And, I’ll admit—reality television is my occasional guilty pleasure!

What’s something you want fellow parents/guardians to know?

Our school community thrives thanks to the active involvement of families. Parents, guardians, siblings, and grandparents are all warmly welcomed, and our wide range of volunteer opportunities ensures that every skill set and experience can make a meaningful and lasting impact.

We encourage you to get involved and help us create lasting, joyful memories for our children—moments that will shape their school experience for years to come.

I look forward to engaging with you all this year and beyond.  We are BETTER TOGETHER!
